Tell us a bit about your blog Regards Onyi
I’m a Houston-based psychiatric physician assistant and the woman behind the wellness, motherhood, and lifestyle blog, Sincerely Onyi. I love sharing how I balance family life while practicing medicine and growing my business. I am passionate about mental health awareness and my mission is to bring acceptance to the neurodiverse community. I also enjoy helping busy women balance their lives beautifully. One of the many aspects of my job that I love the most is inspiring women to let go of perfection while fully enjoying all that life has to offer.
What made you want to start it?
I first started my blog because I wanted to share my experience as a medical assistant. At the time, I couldn’t find anyone else like me who shared their stories. That’s when I got the inspiration to create an informative and relevant blog for the next young black woman to resonate with. There was a small evolution with the transition from my blog to wedding planning and eventually a motherhood blog when I was experiencing postpartum anxiety and looking for online community.
Are you a full-time creative or entrepreneur? If not, what else do you do?
Yes, I am a full time contractor and also practice as a Psychiatric Medicine Assistant.
What are your go-to productivity tools to help you stay focused and motivated throughout the day?
Not a day goes by that I don’t check Asana or Google Calendar. These productivity tools are amazing resources that help me stay organized. I also rely on my personal assistant to organize my responsibilities and important reminders.
What is a shocking insight you gained from owning a blog/running a business?
A shocking insight I gained was a personal revelation that, once recognized, changed my life. Before I started my business, I had a preconception that I was lazy due to my undiagnosed ADHD. In reality, I prefer to work 24/7 on something I’m passionate about.
What do you do for fun when you’re not creating content?
When I’m not creating content, I watch Marvel movies or binge Marvel TikToks.
What is your current favorite book, podcast or website?
Disney+ is my favorite website because it’s where I can watch all my favorite Marvel movies with my family.
What are you expecting from the coming year?
I look forward to expanding the business opportunities and continuing to fulfill my mission of bringing acceptance to the neurodiverse community.
